Rod Wilson, Executive Director
Rod Wilson, Executive Director, obtained his Masters of Science, Sports and Recreation Management from the University of Idaho, Moscow, ID in 1987 and his Bachelor of Arts, Recreation from Eastern Washington State College, Cheney, WA in 1975. Rod started at Northwest Children’s Home, Inc. in 1977 and during his time here, has held a progressively demanding range of jobs including Residential Treatment Specialist (1977-1980), Director of Activities (1980-1989), Director of Development (1989-1998), Director of Residential Services (1998-2002) and Assistant Director (2002-2005).
Rod’s personal interests include Golf, Fishing, Motorcycles, Travel, Woodworking and Gardening.
Scott Mosher, Director of Clinical Services
Scott Mosher graduated from Lewiston High School in 1969, earned a Bachelor’s of Science, Sociology/Social Work degree from the University of Idaho in 1973 and then achieved the Master’s of Social Work and Masters of Public Administration from Eastern Washington University in 1981 and 1982 respectively. He’s been a resident of the Valley off and on for 52 years. The first time he started work at NCH was in 1974 as a Child Care Counselor. He returned to NCH in April 2002 to accept the role of Clinical Services Director. Scott is a Licensed Master Social Worker (#402 State of Idaho) and has completed Balanced Approach Training.
Among other awards, he is the recipient of the Idaho Juvenile Justice Association John Shuler Award in 1999, the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Extra Mile Award in 2001 and the Idaho Juvenile Justice Administrator of the Year Award, Region 2 in 1995. Scott also presently serves on the Idaho Juvenile Justice Commission.
The aspects he loves most about working at NCH are knowing that you are part of an organization and team that is committed to improving the lives of children, youth and families; and observing the positive changes that the kids make over time, the success stories.
Bruce Grimoldby, Director of Education - Lewiston
In 1986, Bruce took a job as a child care counselor at Northwest Children’s Home’s Special Care Program (SCP) in Orofino. About a year later, NCH built a new building on its Lewiston campus for SCP. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Program Coordinator. In 1989, Bruce left the Children’s Home to pursue another career opportunity, but returned two years later and started at the NCH Education Center. He worked as a teacher’s aide for one semester and was promoted to a teaching position at the Hopper Program in 1992. In 1998, he moved to the main Education Center to take the Head Teacher position. Bruce became the Director of Education in 2000. He holds a Master of Arts in History from Washington State University and administrative credentials for School Principal Pre-K-12 and Director of Special Education. He served on the Idaho Special Education Advisory Panel from 2005 through Spring 2008.
Bruce’s hobbies include reading, gardening and golf.
Rodney Kanikkeberg, Director of Residential Services/Admissions - Lewiston
Rodney Kanikkeberg has been working to help children in need since he graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in 1993. He worked at Northwest Children’s Home for three years as a Child Care Counselor before accepting a brief sojourn at Children’s Farm Home in Oregon. In 1997, he returned to NCH as a Case Manger and then was promoted to Director of Admissions in December of 1998. Rodney achieved his Master of Education Degree (Counseling and Human Services) in 2002 from the University of Idaho in Moscow. His duties increased in 2006, when he added Director of Residential Services to his title.
Rodney enjoys having the opportunity to see positive changes in the young people we work with and having a job where two days are never the same.
Marje Hefner, Director of Human Resources
Marje Hefner has worked at Northwest Children's Home since 1983. Marje's interest in the Children's Home developed before she was employed by NCH when she adopted a 10-year-old resident of what was then North House. Today he is a masonry worker with a family of his own.
Marje has a degree in political science and is a certified teacher. She enjoys working "behind the scenes" as Human Resources Director. She believes her contribution to NCH's important mission is to do what she can to help staff members understand and appreciate the benefits of working at NCH. Besides the intangible benefits of making a difference in the lives of clients, NCH offers a comprehensive fringe benefits package. They are generous and confirm the commitment of the Board and administration to recruit and maintain good staff people to deliver care to NCH clients.
Since 1999, Marje has been married to Duane Hefner, NCH's Activities Coordinator. Their interests include their home, their pets--two dogs and six goats--and, when they have time, outdoor recreation, especially boating and hiking.
Clete Ryan, CPA, Director of Finance
Clete Ryan has been working at Northwest Children's Home since 1997. Prior to this position, Clete held the Controller role at Totem Pacific, Inc., Shultz Distributing, Inc. and Don Aadsen Ford.
Clete holds his Bachelors degree in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting and a minor in Economics, from the University of Montana. He also has an Associates Degree in Accounting from Flathead Valley Community College. Clete has been a CPA since 1992 and is licensed in Idaho, Washington and Montana.
Rita Koefod, Director of Development- Northern Idaho
Rita graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with degrees in International Business and French. Following college, Rita worked in account development for American Identity, a full service promotional products company in Kansas City.
Most recently, Rita was Director of Marketing for The Merchandise Mart Design Center in Chicago, IL. During her six years with The Mart, Rita created cohesive marketing efforts for 130 home furnishings tenants, including charity events, designer outreach, advertising, web site promotions, national magazine partnerships and DreamHome, a designer show house.
Rita is an active member of Lewiston Rotary and enjoys spending time working on projects on home, reading, biking, kayaking and traveling with her husband Rodger.
Julene Reed, Director of Development - Southern Idaho
Prior to joining Northwest Children’s Home in 2006, Julene was as a Financial Advisor for nine years, seven of those at Piper Jaffray. While there, she enjoyed working with her clients as well as building a solid and trusting relationship with them. Outside of her employment, she took on various leadership roles in event planning, marketing, and fund raising for non profits in her community.
She holds an MBA from Boise State University as well as a BA in Accounting from the College of Idaho. With her business and volunteer experiences, she is well versed in donor relations, corporate solicitation, and fund raising, and she has a keen appreciation for non profit financial needs and concerns. When she is not working, she enjoys tennis with her friends, and any and all free time with her husband, Kevin, of 23 years.
Shawn McDowell, Program Director - Syringa House
Judy Randleman, Director of Education – Treasure Valley
Judy Randleman spent 30 years as a public school Special Education Teacher and Director before retiring and joining the Northwest Children’s home in 2004. She graduated from BSU with a BA in Elementary Education with a Special Education Endorsement in 1973, then received her MA in Reading and a Special Education Emphasis in 1979. She also completed her Administrative Endorsement in 1991 through the University of Idaho. Judy has served on several Children’s Mental Health councils throughout the years as well as serving as the Regional Chair for Region 3 for three years. She has been active in the Council for Exceptional Children from the beginning of her professional career and is currently on the state board for the Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders.
On a personal side Judy enjoys her three grandsons, traveling and quilting, in that order.
