If you have not already given to our Annual Giving Campaign, please take a moment to consider the lives of at-risk girls who need to overcome the incredible difficulties that they have experienced with the oversight of trained professionals at Syringa House.
One of the most important questions we are asked is how Syringa House is different than foster care. Many foster families do not have the full training and education to really get at the root of the problems these girls deal with. While living at Syringa House, the girls go through individual, group and family counseling, as well as classes that prepare them for independent living by teaching socialization, thoughtfulness, and interpersonal skills. This is on top of the educational tutoring necessary to help the girls graduate from high school.
Syringa House has a unique team approach. With the help of each girl’s peers, staff, therapist, teacher, referring agency, and case worker, she is able to improve herself on many levels. The combination of coaching and counseling gives each child an opportunity to face past issues, gain new insights, learn self-responsibility and manage their own behaviors.
If you can offer, even just a little bit, we would love to hear from you. Together…we change lives.
Warmest Regards,
