Jazz Up Your Holidays at our Annual Snow Ball 2009 Minimize

Many of you listened to our needs and decided to support our annual fundraising event on November 14th, which provided a fun-filled evening of jazz, food, wine, and dancing. Because of you we raised over $17,000 in support of Syringa House.

Our guest speaker Sharon Taylor, who graduated from Northwest Children’s Home residential treatment program in 1983, honored us. She personally wants to thank each and every one of you for supporting Syringa House and Northwest Children’s Home (NCH) this past year. Here is what she has to say:

“I had the pleasure of meeting so many of you at the Snow Ball event, and I must say that I was welcomed with open arms and open hearts, met old friends and made new friends. It was not easy coming forward after so many years and talking about what it was that brought me to NCH all those years ago, but I hope when you left at the end of the evening that you realized just how important your generous contributions at these special events and throughout the year mean to the girls of Syringa house. Because of you, these girls will have birthday gifts, clothes, a loving and nurturing environment and an education. But most important they will receive counseling and time to heal to become productive members within our societies. It truly is because of each and every one of you that I am where I am today. I never thought that I would live to see the day I graduated high school or got married or have a family and a wonderful career that I love. But NCH cared enough to help me get where I am today. This program saved my life and I would not be giving back so much of myself to this program if it truly wasn’t worth it.”

You have given our girls the opportunity every child deserves. Together…we change lives.
