Northwest Children's Home Selected as a Regence Community Partner Minimize
Regence BlueShield of Idaho grant will help renovate portions of Northwest Children’s Home campus

Health insurance company names Northwest Children’s Home a
Community Partner Organization and donates funds for campus renovation

Northwest Children’s Home received a 3-year grant commitment from Regence BlueShield of Idaho, which named the NCH its newest Community Partner Organization through 2013.

From Regence, the Northwest Children’s Home will receive comprehensive assistance through the financial grant, event support, board member involvement and employee volunteer support.

“The goal  of the Community Partnership Program is to help strengthen  nonprofit organizations such as the Northwest Children’s Home and to assist them in achieving their vision,” said Regence BlueShield of Idaho president Scott Kreiling, who presented a check to NCH officials at a board of directors meeting today.

The funds will be directed toward renovations of the Vision House and Quest classrooms, allowing the nonprofit organization to strengthen its educational programs and increase its capacity to make a difference in the lives of the children it serves.

“The children, staff and board of directors at Northwest Children’s Home are very honored to have been selected by Regence BlueShield of Idaho as a Community Partner Organization,” said Rod Wilson, NCH executive director. “It’s clear that both Regence and NCH share a common vision in supporting special-needs children and families in our communities. This partnership will allow us to make badly needed improvements to our classrooms and group therapy rooms and will significantly improve our learning environments that serve a special population of boys and girls.”

Regence has partnered with other organizations since the program began in 2007, most recently with the Idaho Foodbank and Boys and Girls Clubs throughout the state.

“This reaffirms our commitment to the communities in which we live and work,” Kreiling said. “There are organizations such as the children’s home with critical needs, and we hope this step we are taking will help address the overall health and well being of the kids who are served here.”
